Tell your analytics tool where a visitor actually came from.

For: EveryoneDifficulty: Medium⏱ 2 min

UTM tags are labels added to your destination address so tools like Google Analytics can attribute the visit. LinkVault adds them for you.

Step by step

  1. Create or edit a link and open the campaign fields.
  2. Source — where it is posted: instagram, newsletter, flyer.
  3. Medium — the kind of traffic: social, email, print.
  4. Campaign — the thing you are running: july-sale, launch.
  5. Save. Anyone following the link arrives with those tags attached.

Tips

  • Pick a convention and stick to it. "Instagram" and "instagram" are two different sources in most reporting tools.
  • Campaign tags are included from the Starter plan.
