How contact syncing works

What gets sent, when, and what the statuses mean.

Step by step
- A new or updated contact is queued for each connected platform — the visitor is never made to wait for it.
- Synced means the platform accepted the contact.
- Pending means it is queued or being retried.
- Failed means the platform rejected it; the reason is shown on the contact.
- Skipped means we deliberately did not send it — usually because consent was not given.
Tips
- Consent travels with the contact. A contact who did not opt in is not mirrored, whatever the integration settings say.
- Use Sync on a contact to retry one by hand after fixing a problem.
