How to create a QR code

Step by step

1. Open QR codes from the navigation rail and tap Make a QR code on the first card, “A code for almost anything”. The code types open right below the cards — on the same page.
2. Use the tabs — Website, Social, Communication, Business and Simple codes — and pick what the code should do. Simple codes (website link, plain text, WiFi, contact card, email, text message and phone call) are on every plan. A type your plan does not include shows a lock: tap it to see which plan does.
3. Give it a Name. That is for finding it in your own list later; nobody scanning it ever sees it.
4. Fill in the fields for the type you picked — the web address, the WhatsApp number and message, the Instagram username, and so on.
5. Where the option appears, tick Let me change it after printing. The code then goes through LinkVault, so you can change what it does later and see every scan. Some types always work this way and say Editable and tracked instead.
6. Save. The code appears on its own page, with Download (SVG for print, PNG for screens) and Design for colours, patterns and a logo.

Tips

• Free includes 3 codes, Starter 25 and Growth 250; Premium and Enterprise are unlimited. Simple and Advanced codes count towards the same total.
• Save as draft keeps a code offline: anyone who scans it sees “This QR code isn’t live yet” until you save it without that option.
• Test every code with two different phones before you send anything to print.

Frequently asked questions

Will my existing codes change?
No. Codes you made before Advanced QR arrived keep their image, their destination and their scan history exactly as they were. Nothing is converted.
