Tracking QR code scans

See how many people actually scanned the thing you printed.

For: EveryoneDifficulty: Medium⏱ 2 min

Step by step

  1. Make the code editable — tick Let me change it after printing — because counting works by passing each scan through LinkVault.
  2. Open the code: its page shows Scans, Unique visitors, and the first and last scan.
  3. Choose Analytics for the detail — scans over time, busiest hours, countries, devices and more. On the QR codes page, Open analytics on the “See every scan” card (also under More) shows every code together.
  4. Compare placements by making a separate code for each: one for packaging, one for the flyer, one for the window. Folders and campaigns keep them together.

Tips

  • Scan counts on simple website-link codes come with the Starter plan. Full analytics for Advanced codes comes with Growth, Premium and Enterprise.
  • One code on everything tells you the campaign worked. One code per placement tells you which part of it did.
  • What counts as a scan — and what does not — is explained in QR code analytics: what counts as a scan.
