Splitting scans between destinations and A/B testing

1 min read · Updated 18 Oct 2026

Send a share of scans to each of several pages, and see which one does better.

For: Premium and EnterpriseDifficulty: Advanced⏱ 4 min

Step by step

  1. Open an editable code and choose Split.
  2. Choose Add a destination, pick What should it do? and give it a Label such as “A” or “New menu”.
  3. Set each destination’s share. The shares must add up to 100 — or choose Split evenly. Add at 0% sets one up without sending it anything yet.
  4. To compare them in your own web analytics, tick Tag web destinations with utm_content= their label.
  5. Choose Save split. Under How each side is doing, see each destination’s scans side by side.

Tips

  • Each scan is sent to one destination, chosen at random in proportion to its share. The same person scanning twice may land on different sides.
  • Up to 10 destinations per code. Removing one shares its percentage out among the rest.
  • Traffic splitting and A/B comparison are included on Premium and Enterprise.
